Don't Ask Don't Tell

Don't Ask Don't Tell (DADT) is a rule in a relationship that keeps information between parterns siloed and separate.

For example, Tim may have a relationship with Eric and Andre. Tim and Eric have agreed to DADT with Tim's relationship with Andre. Eric does not want to know anything about the relationship other than it exists.

An important distinction between DADT and garden variety infidelity is that Tim and Eric agree to and acknowledge Tim's relationship with Andre.

DADT is often used as a rule to combat jealousy, but can result in anxiety and fear instead.
